This spring went by in a blur, didn’t it? It seems every day is just about the same, yet here we are in mid-July and I can’t remember what I did just two months ago? There sure has been a lot to worry about, stress over and process these past few months, but I hope you are all staying well and being safe.

I have to admit, it’s been rather tough on the writing front for me since May. I have about four different projects that need to be written, yet I feel as if my wheels keep on spinning with no traction to propel me forward.

However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t new books and writing projects in the works. Here’s some news on my upcoming releases:

July 24thPrecious Gems (A Blake Brothers Novel) – this is my dark crime/suspense romance I had included in the Leave Me Breathless anthology this past January and it’s now going to be re-released with a new cover and new content. It will also lend itself as the opening book for the new series, The Blake Brothers series.

Next up will be Roman Blake’s story in Precious Beauty (TBD).

August 25th – is the tentative audiobook release date for Change in Strategy

Early September – TBD on the release date of the Reckless serial audiobooks – currently in production

Early October – I’ll be submitting a short college sports romance called Above the Rim that will be included in a Black Lives Matter charity anthology, published by Renita McKinney. This anthology will include stories of interracial and multi-cultural romances and all the proceeds will go directly to a BLM charity.

October 11th – the long-awaited release date for my Cocky Hero Club book, Stuck-Up Big Shot! It will be released in ebook, print and audiobook all within the same week! Check out all the CHC books that have already released to date HERE: http://www.cockyheroclub.com/

And if I can make it happen, I still plan on releasing book 3 in the Change of Heart series, Change of Course, later this year. Maybe November? We’ll see what my fall writing schedule looks like for me.

The past three weeks we have seen history in the making. We’ve seen a black man die at the hands of a white police officer, we’ve seen worldwide protests and riots, we’ve witnessed unnecessary police force, we’ve heard tons of rhetoric and response to the racial injustice and inequality in America. We’ve been re-educated on what it means to have white privilege. We’ve seen the beginning of change in America.

We’ve also seen leaders fail and continue in their racist ways. But despite that, we’ve also seen people rise to the occasion and stand up for Black Lives Matter.

This is what change looks like. It’s scary. It can be uncomfortable. But it shouldn’t be for people of color. It’s necessary. And it certainly doesn’t matter if it’s scary or uncomfortable for white people.

This is the time for those with white privilege to be shaken – to be woke – to feel uncomfortable! That’s what it will take to make change happen. To realize things in this country are not great. Things are not, and haven’t been, safe for people of color for hundreds of years. And the only ones who can really help to solve this problem are those who hold that white privilege.

“It became clear over time that white people have extremely low thresholds for enduring any discomfort associated with challenges to our racial worldviews.” Robin DiAngelo

You might ask why I’m sharing this statement in a blog that is about my books. Well, it’s because my books are about love. Love of all kind.

I stand with the Black community who are hurt and affected daily by racial injustice. I strongly oppose racial injustice in all forms, and I support equality.

I’m also using this platform to speak out and to offer my commitment to reeducate myself on what it means to be an anti-racist, what it means to allow for inclusion, compassion, fairness and understanding. And to help educate others on how to contribute.

For those who wish to learn more or find a way to contribute, I’ve borrowed this list from an email I received from the Romance Writers of America.

Where has this month gone? In a blink of an eye, it seems to have vanished. The only evidence I have that it existed is based on the amount of work I’ve accomplished in the past thirty days and all the checks off on my To Do list.

Here’s a recap for you:

  • Wrote and released a new Flirt Club book on May 18th - Stepbrother X2 is LIVE and on KU and was a #1 Best Seller and #1 New Release on Kindle!

  • I gave away $250 in gift cards to 11 deserving winners as part of my #AloneTogether charitable giveaway. It was my way of giving back to our reader community.

  • Curated and announced a 15-author collective for a shared-world series entitled All American Boy series. These books will be released in late January and early February 2021. Check out our new FB page and enter to win a $10 gift card before May 29th

  • I revealed the cover and finished the edits of my soon-to-be-released Stuck-Up Big Shot book, part of Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Cocky Hero Club world. Once I submit it and it’s approved and I have a release date, I’ll let you know.

  • I signed two contracts for audiobook deals for Change in Strategy and Reckless: The Smoky Mountain Trio

  • Recorded, edited and uploaded my second episode on my BookTube channel. Now LIVE is the video where I share my favorite books and authors! Check it out here!

  • And lastly, I have a LIMITED TIME SALE going on now through Monday May 25th and I’ve reduced Change in Strategy on Kindle to $.99! (FREE on KU)

Stay tuned for more to come…including the announcement of the narrators for Reckless and an upcoming Instagram Hop in June!

Until then, be well and stay well.
